Does it work on localhost?
Yes. Open your local page in Chrome, then open Mobile View. Nothing leaves your computer.
How is it different from DevTools device mode?
DevTools shows one viewport at a time. Mobile View shows four real devices side by side, kept in sync.
Why won't some sites load?
Some sites block being shown inside another page. Mobile View tells you and offers to open them in a tab.
Does the fix prompt upload my code?
No. It is written on your machine for you to paste into your own coding tool.
